Karate Training and Certifications

  • 1971: Began training in Shotokan Karate at Chester Shotokan Karate dojo with Kato Sensei, J.K.A., K.U.G.B.
  • 1977: Started training with Sensei Michael O’Connor at the Handbridge Shotokan Karate Club dojo under the guidance of Enoeda Sensei, K.U.G.B., J.K.A.
  •  2009: Started training with Kyoshi Ricardo Llewelyn at the Benicia Shotokan Karate Academy dojo, I.S.K.A.
  • August 2009: Achieved Shodan rank ( First Degree Black Belt) in Shotokan Karate with Kyoshi Ricardo Llewelyn.
  • June 2011: Achieved Nidan  at the Benicia Shotokan Karate Academy dojo, I.S.K.A.
  • 2012: Began training at Fremont Shotokan Karate dojo.
  • June 2013: Achieved Sandan  at the Benicia Shotokan Karate Academy dojo, I.S.K.A.
  • January 2016: Achieved Yondan at the Benicia Shotokan Karate Academy dojo, I.S.K.A.

 

Championships

  • 2011 ~ present: Competed in 43 kata (form) and kumite (sparring) divisions in many local and regional karate tournaments.
  • 2014: W.T.K.O. World Championships, Northern California, bronze medalist kumite (sparring).
  • March 2016: AMAS tournament in South San Francisco - Gold medalist in kumite and bronze medalist in kata.
  • May 2016: Fremont Shotokan Karate Tournament - Gold medalist in both kumite and kata, advanced black belt division.
